W. SCOTT KIBLER, DMD
“Part of my profession is to teach my patients what they can do to keep their teeth for a lifetime. I want my patients to be at their happiest and healthiest! It is my goal to aid in the rehabilitation of teeth and educate patients to maintain their dental health for a lifetime.”
Education and Experience
Dr. Scott Kibler is a South Carolina native. Born in Charleston, his family relocated to Spartanburg when he was five years old. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. Dr. Kibler earned a full scholarship with the Navy at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he graduated in 2002.
Dr. Kibler has been in private practice since 2006 in Summerville. His interests in dentistry are ever growing as he spends many hours a year in continuing education courses to offer his patients the most current concepts in the field. He is a member of the prestigious Seattle Study Club, as well as the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Kibler routinely mentors MUSC dental students in his private practice.
A History of Service
After completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Kibler transferred to Roosevelt Roads Naval Station, Puerto Rico. The Kiblers then returned to Naval Air Station Pensacola, where Dr. Kibler was the staff dentist for the legendary Blue Angels. His adventure with the Navy continued back to the Caribbean for a deployment to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where he served as the dental officer for the Joint Medical Group. Dr. Kibler received the prestigious Joint Commendation Medal and Expeditionary War on Terrorism Medal for his performance in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Kibler is a proud veteran of the US Navy.
In the Office
Seeing patients since 1998, Dr. Kibler looks forward to his work more than ever. Each day, he learns something new about people. He loves putting patients at ease and restoring their teeth to full form and function. Our staff loves working together and are always having fun! Each team member has a minimum of six years experience, and some have over 20 years of dental expertise! They are wholly dedicated to the practice and patients.
Family and Community
Scott and Katie, a native of Dallas, have been married since 2000 and welcomed their first daughter Lilly in November 2013 and an energetic standard poodle, Rosie in October 2014. They enjoy boating, fishing, skiing, and spending time entertaining family and friends.
MICHAEL J. SKOVIRA, DDS
“It is a privilege sharing my passion for Dentistry with my patients. I’ve found that when it comes to wellness, prevention is key. When problems of the teeth and jaws occur, it’s important to intervene early. Oftentimes dental problems can lead to difficulties chewing and smiling. The better care I am able to provide allows my patients to enjoy eating and smiling without worry!”
Education and Experience
Dentistry is unique in that it blends science, engineering, and art with the personal relationships of healthcare. With a background in engineering and a special interest in healthcare, Dr. Skovira decided to pursue a career in Dentistry after realizing how much of a direct impact good Dentistry can have on people’s lives. He studied Biology and Chemistry at The State University of New York College at Geneseo, where he graduated with honors. He attended Dental School close to home at the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine.
Upon graduation, he went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina here in Charleston. This program trains dentists to provide treatment for patients with complex dental problems requiring unique and customized strategies. He extensively trained in the surgical placement and utilization of dental implants for the replacement of missing teeth.
His commitment to education above and beyond the requirements necessary has translated to better patient care. Dr. Skovira has trained across the country to provide dental services to those requiring complex restorative and surgical intervention. Outside the office, he is an Adjunct Faculty and clinical instructor for the College of Dental Medicine at MUSC training dental students in oral surgery at various clinics around the area. He has been seeing patients and practicing since 2011.
Family and Community
Dr. Skovira is married to Emily, a Speech-Language Pathologist. They have three beautiful young children; Luke, Grady & Madelyn. Dr. Skovira and his wife relocated to the Lowcountry from Western New York after his training. They enjoy spending time as a family of 5, traveling when possible, boating, and getting together with family and friends.

Andrea — Dental Hygiene Team Lead
A native of Orlando, Florida, Andrea has been in the dental field since 2002, first serving as a dental assistant. After many years as a chairside assistant, she decided to further her education to become a dental hygienist and finished with her degree in dental hygiene in 2014. Andrea loves making patients feel at ease and loves getting to know her patients on a personal level. With this strong rapport, she feels like she can truly help the patients understand their condition and gain motivation for optimal dental health. Andrea has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and is one of our office experts in the Zoom whitening system. She loves spending time with her daughter, Brianna, and mentoring her through Girl Scout activities! Ask Andrea about having lived in Spain when a military family member!
Jenny — Dental Assistant Team Lead
A native of upstate New York, Jenny moved to the lowcountry when she was 10. Jenny has worked extensively as a clinical dental assistant for over 13 years in all fields of dentistry but has an extremely high level of expertise in removable prosthodontics. Jenny particularly enjoys changing lives by creating wonderful smiles, often with dentures and partials, and has a true knack for this special type of dentistry. She has experience in everything from cosmetic dentistry to oral surgery and is a true asset to the practice. Jenny enjoys spending time with her husband and children, especially fishing and hunting!
Madison — Clinical Dental Assistant
Madison hails from Charleston and loves everything Lowcountry! She’s an exceptionally warm and caring individual, and patients immediately feel at ease around her. Madison has particular experience in oral surgery. She and Dr. Skovira work well together on complex surgical cases, and she is always on the ready to make even the most involved procedures go smoothly. Madison and her husband, Jonathan, love spending time in their boat on the water with friends!
A history of military service…
Dentists of our practice have a long history of service with the Navy. Dr. Roger Stalb originally founded the practice in 1977 after he retired from serving with the Navy as a dentist. In 1995, Dr. George Kredich took over the practice after retiring from the Navy as well. At that time, the practice was located down Trolley Road from our current office, where we relocated in 2002.
Dr. Scott Kibler joined the practice in 2006 after continuing the legacy of naval service as a dental officer. He then purchased the practice in 2007 and changed the name to Old Trolley Dental Associates. Dr. Kredich continued working part-time with the practice until 2015, when he retired. During that same year, Dr. Michael Skovira joined the practice full-time.
